Easy simple Chicken Biryani

 Chicken Biriyani


Biryani is a mixed rice dish originating among the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. It is made with Indian spices, rice, vegetables in certain regional varieties. Biryani is popular throughout the Indian subcontinent, as well as among its diaspora.
This biryani has mild fragrance, sticky rice, distinct taste of rice with hot and tangy flavour along with soft meat or vegetables. Use Taste Meter language to universally describe the unique taste of different biryanis. Many historians believe that biryani originated from Persia and was brought to India by the Mughals. Biryani was further developed in the Mughal royal kitchen. the Mughal soldiers looked undernourished. In order to provide a balanced diet to the soldiers, she asked the chefs to prepare dish with meat and rice.

How do you make it?


Ingredient:
 
Chicken, cut into pieces
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vinegar 
1/2 cup tomatoe sliced 
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup fried onions
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon black pepper 
6-8 cloves
4-5 cardamom
1 cinnamon stick
2 bay leaves
3 potatoes, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 cup Rice 
Lime juice 
4 cup hot water

Method:

For the chicken: Take a bowl, Mix together chicken, milk, vinegar, tomatoes, fried onions, chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and salt. Mix well and Marinate them for 2 hours.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add the whole spices and stirring them for a few minutes.  Add the potatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the potatoes have a slight brown colour on them. Add the chicken mixture into the pan and stir. Cover and let cook for 25-30 minutes.

For the rice Bring water to boil along with all whole spices, oil and lime juice.
Drain soaked rice and add to the boiling water. Cook until the rice is just tender and not completely cooked. If you press a grain between finger, it should break. 
It should not be squishy. Drain off the rice in a colander.

Layer the rice on top of the chicken, cover and let steam on a medium flame for 10/15 minutes.

Lightly mix the rice and chicken, garnish with mint leaves and serve.
